Roof problems can start with a small ceiling stain, loose shingles or water around a vent. An inspection helps identify whether the source is the roof covering, flashing, underlayment or another part of the building. RoofTop Pro is a referral service connecting callers with independent roofing providers in San Diego, CA. The roofer determines the scope of work, availability and pricing. Describe when the leak occurs and whether damage followed wind or rain.
Ask for an explanation of the cause, the proposed repair and whether nearby materials also need attention. Avoid climbing onto a wet or damaged roof. Roof repairs and appointments depend on the provider and the condition found on site. Take note of whether water appears only during rain, whether the same area has leaked before and whether nearby surfaces show staining. Photos taken from indoors or the ground can help explain the concern without climbing onto the roof. Ask whether the proposal addresses the source of the leak as well as the visible damage, and which related repairs are outside the roofer's scope. A written scope makes it easier to compare a small targeted repair with a more extensive proposal.
